Most of what I built into the van came back out
Context
I built the van out for multi day production away from base, including a sleeping platform and a full run of cabinetry.
What happened
Once the van moved to Puerto Rico the operating context changed. The island is small enough that I was back at base the same day. The bed and most of the cabinets were carrying weight and volume for a job that no longer existed.
What I changed
I took them out.
Result
More usable floor, less weight, and fewer things to secure and maintain. The parts I had spent the longest building were the ones worth removing. If I had needed the bed again it would have gone back in smaller than it left.
